How to Make Your Pregnancy Journey Memorable

Stay Educated, But Don’t Stress Yourself Out

With endless amounts of information online, it’s easy to become tied to your phone or computer when anything feels even a little out of the ordinary. While it’s important to educate yourself on how to stay healthy, how to provide for your baby’s development, and various things for after the baby is born, it can quickly become overwhelming or confusing. If you’re worried about something pregnancy related, it’s always best to contact your doctor, rather than the internet.

Exercise

Staying active is important whether you’re pregnant or not, but continuing an active lifestyle can help in various ways throughout your pregnancy. Try to get at least 15 to 20 minutes of exercise a day to help reduce stress, control your weight, improve circulation, improve your mood, and help you sleep better. Even though it can become challenging the further along you are, exercising is a great way to make sure you and your baby are healthy. Consider finding a gym that offers pregnancy Pilates or yoga classes, try swimming, or just walking at a brisk pace around your neighborhood.

Talk to Someone

Pregnancy is filled with hormones, making it an emotional journey that can be difficult to handle on your own. Whether it’s your spouse, a friend, another family member, a therapist, a group of other pregnant women, or even if you want to keep a journal, there are various ways you can express what you’re feeling and what you’re going through. Talking to someone about your experiences, frustrations, or even your cravings can be a great way of reducing stress and giving you a mental release from the various things that can be making your journey difficult.

Start a Photo Album

While many great tips for your pregnancy journey can revolve around physical and mental health, it’s important to spend some time truly treasuring the experience. As you progress through your pregnancy, you can take pictures of your belly each month in order to see the progress, you can include notes about how you’re feeling, 3D ultrasound images, pictures of your plan for the nursery, and more. The time spent putting together your baby book can be therapeutic and in the end you’ll have a keepsake that you can go back and look through.

Schedule a 3D Prenatal Ultrasound

While you’ll definitely have an ultrasound completed as a normal part of your pregnancy, there are several other options that allow you to determine the gender of the baby and to get a visual of what your baby will look like! If you’re looking forward to finding out the baby’s gender, you can schedule a gender determination ultrasound between 14 and 20 weeks. For an image of your baby’s face, you can schedule a 3D/4D ultrasound after 24 weeks. This not only gives you a chance to learn more about your baby, but will also give you a beautiful keepsake you can cherish for years to come.

At Hey Baby! our team loves being able to help parents-to-be “meet” their baby for the first time. Even though you’re not meeting him or her in person just yet, our 3D and 4D prenatal ultrasounds make it possible to see your baby as clearly as possible.
